We are looking for a skilled Senior Electrician – Substations & HV to support the maintenance, repair, and operation of high-voltage substations and associated electrical equipment.
The role is focused on ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the power distribution network through preventive maintenance, fault finding, testing, outage support, and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HV substations and associated equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in substations and high-voltage systems.
- Conduct inspections and testing of electrical components to identify faults and prevent failures.
- Monitor the performance and condition of substations and report abnormalities.
- Support electrical operations during planned and unplanned outages.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and incidents.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Support emergency response and restoration activities.
- Prepare technical reports on the condition and performance of HV substations.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Relevant hands-on experience in HV electrical systems, substations, and maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems.
- Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage equipment and components.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently when required.
