Role Summary:
Responsible for measurement preparation, RD&T planning and offline CMM programming for automotive body parts and assemblies, supporting the program from initial definition through VP, Tool Trial, Pre-Production and final handover.
Key Responsibilities
• Review CAD, GD&T and engineering requirements to define measurement strategies, datums, alignments and critical characteristics.
• Create and maintain measurement-point nominations, MP drawings and editable RD&T measurement plans.
• Develop complete offline CMM programs, including sequences, probe strategies, accessibility checks and production deployment packages.
• Perform simulation, reachability and collision checks; document validation results and residual risks.
• Update plans and programs following engineering changes, build feedback and geometry learning.
• Support VP, Tool Trial and Pre-Production try-outs, troubleshooting, optimization and final release.
• Maintain revision history, change logs, traceability and configuration-controlled handover packages.
• Provide weekly status updates and participate in technical reviews and governance meetings.

Required Skills
• Automotive body/BIW geometry assurance and dimensional verification.
• Strong interpretation of 3D CAD, engineering drawings, GD&T, datum systems and tolerances.
• Hands-on offline CMM programming, probe-path definition, simulation and collision avoidance.
• Measurement planning for single parts, subassemblies, subsystems and body assemblies.
• Engineering change, revision and product-data management.
• Problem solving across product, fixture, machine and programming interfaces.
• Clear technical communication and ability to work with remote, plant and cross-functional teams.

Education & Experience
• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, Production or Metrology Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant automotive metrology, body geometry or CMM programming experience.
• Experience supporting prototype, Tool Trial, launch or Pre-Production phases preferred.
• Automotive standards and production CMM prove-out experience are advantageous.
