About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and organized Junior Cybersecurity Business Continuity Analyst to support the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity and cyber resilience plans.
In this role, you will help assess how cybersecurity incidents, technology outages, and other disruptions could affect business operations. You will assist with documenting recovery procedures, coordinating resilience exercises, tracking action items, and ensuring that relevant teams have up-to-date continuity information.
This opportunity is suitable for an early-career IT professional interested in cybersecurity, disaster recovery, risk management, and operational resilience. Training and guidance will be provided by experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining business continuity and cyber incident recovery documentation.
- Support business impact assessments and technology dependency reviews.
- Help identify critical systems, applications, and business processes.
- Maintain records of recovery objectives, continuity requirements, and assigned responsibilities.
- Assist with coordinating tabletop exercises and business continuity tests.
- Document exercise results, lessons learned, and improvement actions.
- Support reviews of disaster recovery procedures and system recovery plans.
- Help track remediation actions arising from resilience assessments.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, risk, and business operations teams.
- Assist with preparing reports on continuity readiness and resilience gaps.
- Help ensure contact lists, escalation procedures, and recovery documentation remain current.
- Follow organizational requirements for confidential information and incident preparedness.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Continuity, or a related field; equivalent practical knowledge may be considered.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business operations.
- Familiarity with incident management, backup processes, or disaster recovery concepts is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Good written communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to coordinate tasks and follow established procedures.
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.
Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply. Relevant academic projects, internships, IT support experience, and introductory cybersecurity or continuity training are beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Awareness of business continuity and disaster recovery principles.
- Familiarity with business impact analysis (BIA).
- Basic understanding of recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
- Awareness of ISO 22301, ISO 27001, or relevant NIST guidance.
- Familiarity with incident response and escalation procedures.
- Basic knowledge of backup, restoration, and system availability concepts.
- Experience with spreadsheets, documentation tools, and action trackers.
