Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and project budgets for civil construction and interior fit-out works, steel structure buildings, car parking.
Review architectural, structural, MEP, interior drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify quantities, scope, and commercial requirements.
Conduct rate analysis for materials, labour, equipment, subcontract works, and project activities.
Support tendering and procurement through quotation evaluation, commercial comparisons, subcontractor/supplier negotiations, and tender submissions.
Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, actual costs, variations, and forecasts to support effective cost control.
Conduct site measurements and progress verification and validate subcontractor quantities before certification and payment.
Prepare and review interim valuations, payment applications, and progress claims for clients and subcontractors.
Identify, evaluate, and manage variations and change orders, including cost calculations, submissions, and approval tracking.
Assist with contract administration, commercial claims, EOT-related documentation, and contractual compliance.
Maintain accurate records of BOQs, estimates, quotations, measurements, contracts, variations, claims, and commercial correspondence.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Consultants, Procurement, Finance, Clients, Subcontractors, and Suppliers on commercial and quantity-related matters.
Support audits, commercial compliance, and project documentation while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Competencies:
Quantity Surveying & Cost Management: Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, cost estimation, cost control, variations, billing, and contract administration for civil construction and interior fit-out projects.
Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and quantity take-off/estimation software; working knowledge of PlanSwift and Primavera.
Technical & Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and construction drawings and accurately assess quantities, costs, specifications, and project requirements.
Commercial & Coordination Skills: Strong analytical, numerical, communication, coordination, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, procurement, finance, and project teams.
Professional Skills: High level of accuracy, attention to detail, integrity, confidentiality, commercial awareness, and time management, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
5–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimation, Cost Control, or Commercial activities, preferably in civil construction or interior fit-out.
Oman experience is mandatory, preferably with a construction, contracting, interior fit-out, joinery, or related company, with good knowledge of the Oman construction market.
Strong working knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, rate analysis, cost control, variations, claims, billing, and contract administration.
Valid Oman Driving License is preferred.
Good English communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant Quantity Surveying/estimation software.
