SUMMARY
The QS Engineer will be responsible for all post-contract quantity surveying functions including measurement, valuation, variations, interim payments, claims, and final account settlement. Ensures that all contractual and commercial matters are properly administered in line with the company’s policies, project requirements, and applicable contract conditions.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer post-contract activities in line with the contract conditions (FIDIC / bespoke forms).
- Prepare, review, and certify interim payment applications and invoices.
- Evaluate and negotiate variations, change orders, and claims from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence, instructions, and variations.
- Assist in the preparation of extension of time (EOT) and cost claims with proper substantiation.
- Prepare and finalize subcontractor accounts including variations and final settlement.
- Support the project team in commercial and contractual matters during execution.
- Monitor project costs against budgets, highlighting any potential risks or overruns.
- Participate in contract reviews, progress meetings, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies, and applicable laws.
- Prepare final account submissions and assist in dispute resolution if required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in QS roles within fit-out or construction projects.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
