Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the company’s procurement activities, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services while maintaining quality, compliance, and strong supplier relationships. The role oversees strategic sourcing, negotiations, tendering, contract management, and procurement governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business and operational requirements.
- Manage the full procurement cycle, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
- Lead commercial negotiations to achieve competitive pricing, favorable terms, and cost efficiencies.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Manage supplier relationships and monitor performance against agreed quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and approval controls.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, budgets, contractual requirements, and ethical standards.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, Projects, Engineering, Legal, and other departments to understand and fulfill procurement requirements.
- Manage high-value contracts and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Lead and develop the procurement team while establishing clear KPIs and performance standards.
- Prepare procurement reports covering spend, savings, supplier performance, contracts, and key risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is highly preferred, with preference given to candidates who are graduates of an Engineering faculty. Candidates with relevant degrees in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields may also be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience, preferably including managerial experience.
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing, tendering, commercial negotiations, contract management, and supplier management.
- Proven ability to manage high-value, complex, and technical procurement activities.
- Previous experience working with established procurement/ERP systems, particularly SAP or similar platforms, is highly preferred.
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
- Professional certification such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.
