We are a leading engineering and supervision consultancy providing professional project management, engineering, and construction supervision services for major developments in Saudi Arabia.
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Planning Engineer to join our supervision consultancy team for a major high-rise building project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning and project controls function from the Consultant’s / Engineer’s perspective, including review and monitoring of the Contractor’s baseline programme, progress updates, recovery programmes, schedule performance, critical path, delays, resources, engineering and procurement interfaces, and project reporting.
This is a senior role requiring strong technical knowledge, sound planning judgment, excellent Primavera P6 skills, and the ability to challenge and assess Contractor submissions in a professional and contractually aware manner.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the review and monitoring of the Contractor’s Baseline Programme, Updates, Recovery Programmes, and Look-Ahead Schedules.
· Monitor and verify actual progress against the approved baseline and identify delays, slippage, and critical schedule risks.
· Analyze Planned vs. Actual Progress, S-Curves, KPIs, productivity, and resource deployment.
· Review Contractor recovery and mitigation programmes and assess the adequacy and realism of proposed corrective measures.
· Monitor the interface between Engineering, Procurement, and Construction, including critical submittals, approvals, long-lead items, and material deliveries.
· Identify potential delays and provide early warnings and planning-based recommendations to the Project Management Team.
· Prepare and review weekly/monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, critical path reports, and management presentations.
· Coordinate with the Contractor’s Planning Team and the Consultant’s Project Manager, Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, and discipline teams.
· Provide planning input for contractual correspondence, delay assessments, variations, and Extension of Time submissions, as required.
· Maintain schedule risk, delay, and mitigation trackers and follow up on corrective actions.
