Company Description Zagazig University Hospitals (ZUH) – Surgery Hospital is a major teaching and surgical care facility serving patients from Sharkia and surrounding governorates in Egypt. Role Description The Pharmacist will work full time on-site at Zagazig University Hospitals – Surgery Hospital in Sharkia, Egypt. The role involves dispensing medications accurately, verifying prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with hospital formulary and medication safety protocols. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medication orders for appropriateness, checking for drug interactions, counseling patients on proper medication use, and providing medication-related information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The Pharmacist will participate in inventory management, including ordering, storing, and monitoring medications, with attention to expiry dates and controlled substances regulations. Additional tasks may include supporting clinical pharmacy services on surgical wards, contributing to antimicrobial stewardship, documenting interventions, and participating in training activities for students and new staff.
Qualifications

* Relevant academic background: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or PharmD) from an accredited institution; eligibility for registration or licensure as a pharmacist in Egypt.
Clinical and hospital pharmacy skills: Experience with inpatient medication dispensing, prescription verification, dose calculations, and monitoring for drug interactions and contraindications.
Patient care and communication: Ability to provide clear medication counseling, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain a patient-centered approach in a surgical hospital setting.
Regulatory and safety awareness: Knowledge of national pharmacy regulations, controlled substances handling, infection control principles, and hospital medication safety standards.
Technical and documentation skills: Familiarity with hospital information systems, electronic health records, and accurate medication-related documentation and reporting.
Professional competencies: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
Preferred experience: Prior work in a hospital or clinical pharmacy environment, exposure to surgical or perioperative care, and participation in quality improvement or antimicrobial stewardship projects.
