Key Responsibilities
Deploy, administer, patch, and troubleshoot Oracle engineered systems including Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA), and Private Cloud Appliance (PCA)
Manage and maintain Oracle SPARC and x86 server platforms, including hardware lifecycle management, firmware updates, and capacity planning
Administer Oracle ZFS Storage solutions, covering configuration, replication, performance optimization, and fault resolution
Operate and support Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux environments at an advanced administrative level
Conduct proactive health checks, risk assessments, and infrastructure reviews for client environments
Respond to and resolve escalated technical issues in a timely and methodical manner, ensuring minimal impact to client operations
Produce clear and accurate technical documentation, including runbooks, incident reports, and configuration records
Liaise directly with clients, providing professional guidance and maintaining strong working relationships
Required Qualifications
4-6 years of hands-on experience in Oracle infrastructure and engineered systems administration
Deep understanding of Oracle Exadata including:
Core architecture and components (compute nodes, storage cells, InfiniBand network)
Key features such as Smart Scan, Hybrid Columnar Compression, Storage Indexes, and Flash Cache
Basic understanding of Exadata patching and maintenance lifecycle
Demonstrated expertise on Oracle Exadata including:
Exadata System Installations, deployments and configurations
Patching and upgrade activities
Routine Maintenance and health checks
Practical working knowledge of ODA, ZDLRA, and PCA platforms
Good understanding of:
Oracle Database fundamentals (RAC/ASM concepts)
ASM disk group management
Oracle Database Backup & Recovery Tools (RMAN/ Data Pump)
Solid experience administering Oracle SPARC and x86 servers
Experience with Oracle ZFS Storage architecture and management
Strong command of Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux operating systems
Working knowledge of Oracle KVM virtualization
Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
A methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
Basic knowledge of Oracle Cloud services
Practical knowledge of ExaCC
Knowledge of networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing protocols, and network security principles
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python
Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP, or platform-specific credentials)
Oracle Exadata certification
