NPI / R&D Engineer – High-Speed Digital & Optical Communication Test Systems
About MLTP
MultiLane Test Products (MLTP), a Teradyne affiliate, develops high-speed I/O test solutions for the rapidly evolving AI and data center equipment market. The portfolio brings together high-speed electrical and optical instrumentation, application expertise, and scalable test approaches to help customers improve signal integrity, accelerate time to market, and reduce risk from development through production.
Position Summary
Plan and execute design verification testing for MLTP high-speed electrical and optical instruments. This hands-on role builds reliable test setups, validates prototypes against engineering requirements, identifies design weaknesses, and produces objective evidence that hardware is ready for qualification and release.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated NPI / R&D Engineer to drive the development and commercialization of next-generation test and measurement products used for high-speed digital and optical communication systems. The role focuses on advanced sampling oscilloscopes, Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs), and Bit Error Ratio Testers (BERTs) targeting data center, networking, semiconductor, and telecommunications applications.
This is a hands-on engineering position that combines research and development, product validation, and new product introduction (NPI). The successful candidate will play a key role throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from early concept evaluation and prototype characterization through verification, manufacturing readiness, documentation, and successful market release.
The products under development encompass both high-speed electrical signaling and fiber-optic communication technologies, supporting the latest generation of serial interfaces and optical interconnects operating at tens to hundreds of gigabits per second.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), a solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal electronics, and excellent MATLAB programming skills.
