Position Overview
The Luxury Watch Sales Associate / Advisor is responsible for delivering a highly personalised and professional client experience within a luxury watch boutique, showroom, or premium retail environment. The role focuses on understanding client preferences, presenting suitable timepieces, providing detailed product knowledge, achieving sales targets, and developing long-term client relationships. The position represents the brand with professionalism, discretion, and strong product knowledge while supporting daily boutique operations, visual presentation, inventory control, and after-sales service.
Key Responsibilities
- * Welcome and professionally assist clients in the boutique, showroom, or luxury retail environment.
- Understand each client's preferences, lifestyle, occasion, budget, collecting interests, and purchasing requirements.
- Recommend suitable watches based on design, movement, complications, materials, functionality, brand heritage, and client preferences.
- Present and demonstrate luxury watches professionally, explaining key features, craftsmanship, specifications, finishing, materials, and technical characteristics.
- Maintain strong knowledge of mechanical, automatic, quartz, chronograph, GMT, diving, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, and other relevant watch complications.
- Communicate the history, heritage, craftsmanship, positioning, and unique selling points of different watch brands and collections.
- Explain product specifications, warranties, certificates, servicing requirements, care instructions, availability, pricing, and relevant purchase policies.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing clients through professional clienteling and personalised follow-up.
- Maintain accurate client profiles, preferences, purchase history, enquiries, appointments, and follow-up activities through CRM systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with VIP, repeat, collector, and high-value clients while maintaining appropriate discretion and confidentiality.
- Achieve individual and boutique sales targets, revenue objectives, conversion rates, average transaction values, and other assigned KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across watch collections, accessories, straps, services, or complementary luxury products where appropriate.
- Conduct follow-ups with clients regarding enquiries, product availability, appointments, special occasions, new collections, and after-sales requirements.
- Arrange private consultations, appointments, product demonstrations, collection previews, and VIP client experiences.
- Support product launches, exhibitions, private viewings, brand events, collector gatherings, and other promotional activities.
- Process sales transactions, payments, deposits, invoices, warranties, certificates, returns, exchanges, and other required documentation accurately.
- Handle high-value watches and client transactions with a high level of care, accuracy, security, and professionalism.
- Maintain accurate product and inventory records and support receiving, stock transfers, stock counts, reconciliation, and product verification.
- Follow all procedures relating to stock security, restricted access, loss prevention, safe handling, and high-value inventory control.
- Maintain professional visual merchandising and ensure watches, displays, showcases, promotional materials, and client areas meet brand standards.
- Coordinate with watchmakers, service centres, after-sales teams, logistics, inventory, finance, and management regarding repairs, servicing, warranties, and customer requests.
- Provide appropriate after-sales support and follow up with clients regarding servicing, repairs, warranties, delivery, and product care.
- Handle client enquiries, concerns, complaints, and service recovery professionally while maintaining the reputation and standards of the brand.
- Monitor luxury watch market developments, new releases, competitor activity, pricing trends, collector interests, and changing customer preferences.
- Participate in product training and continuously develop knowledge of watch movements, technical features, materials, complications, collections, and industry trends.
- Support daily boutique opening and closing procedures, housekeeping, stock checks, security controls, and operational standards.
- Work closely with Store Managers, Sales Managers, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and other departments to support boutique performance.
- Prepare or contribute to sales reports, clienteling activities, appointment records, inventory information, and other operational reports.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information, purchasing history, high-value transactions, business information, and VIP relationships.
Requirements
- * Diploma or degree in Luxury Retail, Business, Marketing, Sales, Hospitality, Fashion, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in luxury watches, jewellery, premium retail, fashion, automotive, hospitality, or another high-end customer service environment.
- Strong interest in horology and willingness to develop detailed knowledge of luxury watches, movements, complications, materials, and craftsmanship.
- Strong consultative selling and clienteling skills with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend suitable products.
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets, revenue objectives, conversion rates, and other retail KPIs.
- Experience serving VIP, HNW, collector, or repeat luxury clients is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Professional appearance, polished manner, discretion, integrity, and strong attention to detail.
- Experience using POS, CRM, inventory management, appointment booking, and other retail systems.
- Strong understanding of luxury customer service standards and the importance of personalised client experiences.
- Ability to handle high-value products, transactions, confidential information, and sensitive client relationships responsibly.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients, appointments, enquiries, and sales activities.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of luxury retail, customer behaviour, market trends, and competitive positioning.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a boutique sales team.
- Willingness to work retail hours, weekends, public holidays, events, and extended hours when required.
- Knowledge of watch brands, watchmaking, gemology, or luxury products is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications in horology, watchmaking, gemology, luxury retail, or sales are an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages such as Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages are an advantage depending on the client base.
