As part of our continued growth, we are strengthening our estimation team and seeking a detail-oriented professional to support accurate, competitive, and technically sound project estimates.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Lighting/Electrical Estimation Specialist to support the preparation of lighting and electrical estimates for projects and tenders. The role will involve reviewing technical drawings and specifications, carrying out quantity take-offs, preparing BOQs, calculating costs, and supporting the team in developing competitive tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities
• Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements to understand project scope
• Carry out accurate material quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications
• Calculate material, equipment, and project-related costs
• Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and tender submissions
• Review supplier quotations and maintain accurate pricing information
• Identify cost-saving alternatives while maintaining the design intent and technical requirements
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to obtain relevant product and pricing information
• Maintain updated knowledge of lighting products, technologies, controls, and market pricing
• Assist with the preparation of commercial and technical documentation for tenders
• Support the estimation team in meeting project deadlines and submission requirements
Candidate Requirements
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in lighting, electrical estimation, or a related estimating role
• Good understanding of lighting systems and controls
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Understanding of MEP systems and drawings
• Experience with material quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in estimation or quantity take-off software is an advantage
• Good understanding of lighting products and applications is preferred
• Proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and develop
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal teams and suppliers
