Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Southern Governorate, Bahrain. The Clinical Psychologist will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including diagnostic interviews and standardized psychological testing, and will develop individualized treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include providing psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups, monitoring treatment progress, and documenting all clinical activities in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The role also involves collaborating with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other professionals in multidisciplinary team meetings, participating in case conferences, and contributing to discharge planning. Additional duties may include offering clinical supervision to junior staff, engaging in mental health education for patients and families, and supporting quality improvement or research activities as needed.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in Psychology and Counseling Psychology, with the ability to apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
* Demonstrated expertise in Psychological Testing, including selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of standardized assessment tools.
* Proven experience working in Mental Health settings, such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or community mental health services.
* Competence in Clinical Supervision, including mentoring and guiding trainees or junior clinicians in best practices.
* Recognized license or eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, in line with Bahrain’s regulatory requirements.
* Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
* Strong clinical documentation skills, ethical decision-making, and adherence to professional standards of practice.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and with diverse populations.
* Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
* Experience in hospital or acute care psychiatric settings, and familiarity with crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning, is beneficial.
