Job PurposeThe Hotel Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction, service quality, operational efficiency, employee performance, and financial performance.
The position provides leadership and direction to all operational departments and works closely with the General Manager and Heads of Department to achieve the hotel's business objectives, brand standards, guest satisfaction targets, and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Hotel Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel and ensure smooth coordination between all departments.
- Ensure all operational departments consistently meet hotel, brand, and company standards.
- Monitor operational performance and take corrective action where required.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments.
- Conduct regular operational inspections and follow up on identified issues.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and service throughout the property.
- Guest Experience
- Ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction and service delivery.
- Monitor guest feedback, online reviews, complaints, and satisfaction scores.
- Personally follow up on VIP guests, important occasions, and significant guest complaints.
- Ensure guest complaints are handled professionally, promptly, and effectively.
- Develop a strong service culture focused on exceeding guest expectations.
- Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the hotel management and operational teams.
- Provide guidance and support to Heads of Department.
- Conduct regular management meetings and operational briefings.
- Monitor employee performance and ensure accountability.
- Identify training and development needs in cooperation with the HR Department.
- Promote teamwork, communication, employee engagement, and a positive working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company HR policies and applicable labour regulations.
- Financial & Business Performance
- Support the General Manager in achieving the hotel's financial targets.
- Monitor departmental expenses and ensure effective cost control.
- Review operational performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve profitability.
- Ensure proper control of payroll, purchasing, inventory, utilities, and operating expenses.
- Work closely with Finance and department heads to monitor financial performance.
- Sales & Revenue Support
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management to support business objectives.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and other relevant hotel performance indicators.
- Support initiatives to maximize hotel revenue and market share.
- Maintain strong relationships with key guests, clients, and business partners when required.
- Quality Assurance & Brand Standards
- Ensure compliance with company, brand, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and operational inspections.
- Develop and implement action plans to address areas requiring improvement.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and quality assurance results.
- Ensure all departments maintain required standards at all times.
- Health, Safety & Security
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, fire, and security requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Security, and relevant departments to maintain a safe environment.
- Ensure emergency procedures are understood and regularly practiced.
- Report and follow up on accidents, incidents, and safety concerns.
- Maintenance & Property Management
- Coordinate with Engineering and relevant departments to ensure the property is well maintained.
- Monitor preventive maintenance programs.
- Follow up on repairs, renovations, and operational projects.
- Ensure guest rooms and public areas remain in excellent operational condition.
- Communication & Reporting
- Maintain effective communication with the General Manager and senior management.
- Attend and lead management meetings as required.
- Review daily operational reports and identify areas requiring immediate attention.
- Prepare operational updates and reports when required.
- Ensure important operational issues are escalated promptly.
