As we expand our footprint to 4 commercial routes in 2027, we are seeking a dependable, business-minded General Manager to run local daily operations in direct coordination with off-site executive leadership.
Position OverviewThe General Manager is the local operational engine of Fayetteville Lawn. Reporting directly to an off-site Business Owner, you will hold primary authority over local business administration, route logistics, customer intake, accounts receivable, and vendor procurement.
In this role, you will manage client quoting, scheduling software (Jobber), billing, and OSHA compliance while directly supervising two Working Foremen who handle physical field execution and crew leadership. This position offers high operational autonomy, performance-based profit sharing, and structured career growth.
Key Responsibilities Daily Route Logistics & Dispatch: Oversee morning shop dispatch (6:45 AM / 7:15 AM waves) for 4 field crews. Optimize weekly routes in Jobber, manage vehicle/fleet readiness, and conduct site spot-checks to maintain high service standards.
* Customer Intake & Quoting: Perform fast, accurate satellite (online) and on-site property estimates for new commercial/residential leads. Maintain high client retention through responsive communication and issue resolution.
* Financial Administration & Cost Control: Manage Jobber invoicing, track accounts receivable (A/R), process weekly payroll, monitor fuel/vendor expenses, and analyze quarterly P&L metrics to maximize operational margins.
* Procurement & Supply Chain: Manage shop supply inventory, negotiate vendor pricing on bulk materials, issue purchase orders, and track fleet equipment maintenance protocols.
* Safety, Compliance & Standards: Serve as local Safety Officer enforcing OSHA regulations, commercial vehicle compliance, equipment maintenance, and state pesticide licensing standards.
* Team Supervision & Culture:* Supervise, hire, and onboard field staff. Establish clear daily performance expectations, conduct review check-ins, and foster a positive, high-accountability work culture.
Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of management, supervisory, or administrative experience in business operations, logistics, purchasing, field services, or trade management.
* Leadership & Operations: Demonstrated ability to plan daily workloads, direct team leads, resolve customer/employee issues, and manage supply chain logistics.
* Technical & Software Proficiency: High comfort level with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) for budget tracking, basic office tools, and field management CRM software (Jobber experience preferred).
* Communication & Professionalism: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with commercial clients, vendors, and diverse field teams.
* Licensing & Requirements: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. Ability to conduct on-site property walkthroughs and field quality checks in outdoor conditions.
* Education:* High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Business Administration, Logistics, Management, or related field) is a strong plus.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $40,000 – $50,000 / year (commensurate with experience)
* Performance Bonuses: Quarterly net profit sharing + sales commissions on new recurring accounts and property enhancements
