Zimam Electrical Company is seeking an experienced, results-driven General Manager to lead overall operations, project execution, financial control and business development of our electrical contracting business in Saudi Arabia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will improve operational efficiency, manage active projects, control project costs and cash flow, strengthen team accountability, and win new business. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting directly to the Company Owner / Managing Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Organization

• Oversee day-to-day operations and coordination between departments

• Assign responsibilities, set clear accountability, and build operating procedures and reporting structures

• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions

• Coordinate engineering, site teams, procurement, finance and administration

Project Management & Execution

• Oversee all active electrical contracting projects against agreed schedules

• Monitor timelines, budgets, resources, quality and contractual deliverables

• Run weekly project review meetings and progress reporting

• Identify delays, cost overruns, material shortages and execution risks

• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, technical standards and client specifications

Financial Management & Cash Flow

• Monitor cash flow, operating expenses, project costs and financial commitments

• Maintain cash-flow forecasts with the finance/accounting team

• Follow up on client invoices, payment certificates, retention and overdue payments

• Coordinate supplier and subcontractor payments, and implement cost-control measures

• Report on financial position and project profitability to the owner

Business Development

• Identify and secure new electrical contracting and MEP projects

• Build relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors and developers

• Coordinate technical and commercial proposals for tenders and quotations

• Build and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline

Team Leadership & Reporting

• Lead, motivate and supervise operational and project teams

• Set performance targets and recommend hiring or training where needed

• Provide weekly reports to the owner covering projects, cash flow, expenses, collections and new opportunities

• Escalate significant risks promptly

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field (preferred)

• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience, including substantial experience in electrical contracting, MEP or construction operations

• Previous experience as General Manager, Operations Manager, Projects Director or similar senior role

• Proven experience managing multiple projects at the same time

• Strong grasp of cost control, cash-flow management, invoicing, collections and contract administration

• Proven ability to generate business and develop client relationships

• Experience in the Saudi construction market is highly desirable

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools; familiarity with project management and ERP/accounting software is an advantage

• Good English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage
