Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in backend development and application/API security to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable backend services and REST APIs.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC, microservices, and secure API development. The candidate will work closely with frontend, mobile, QA, DevOps, security, and product teams to build enterprise-grade applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Implement business logic, workflows, backend integrations, and third-party API integrations.
- Develop secure APIs for mobile and web applications.
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using Spring Security and industry-standard security protocols.
- Implement RBAC, OAuth 2.0, JWT, token validation, access control, and API security.
- Apply secure coding practices and identify and remediate application security vulnerabilities.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design efficient data models and queries.
- Implement asynchronous processing and messaging using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, availability, and reliability.
- Develop unit and integration tests and maintain high code quality.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Implement logging, monitoring, auditing, and security controls.
- Collaborate with Android, frontend, QA, DevOps, security, and product teams.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
- Follow Agile development practices and contribute to technical documentation.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience with Spring Security.
- Strong understanding of Authentication & Authorization.
- Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and RBAC.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and secure API design.
- Good understanding of API security and secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of common OWASP/API security vulnerabilities.
- Experience with JPA/Hibernate.
- Strong SQL knowledge with PostgreSQL/MySQL.
- Experience with Redis and/or messaging systems such as Kafka/RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of HTTPS/TLS and secure communication.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing backend systems for mobile or enterprise applications.
- Experience with high-volume APIs and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
