Job Purpose:
Responsible for preparing and reviewing electrical designs and drawings for projects, including shop drawings, quantity take-offs, pricing, and coordination with various disciplines. Ensures that electrical works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements, while providing efficient and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review electrical designs in accordance with project requirements, technical specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Design electrical systems including Lighting, Power, and Cable Routing.
- Prepare and design Low Current / ELV systems, including:
-Fire Alarm
-Public Address
-Structured Cabling
-CCTV
- Prepare and review Shop Drawings and detailed execution drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Develop BIM models and coordinate electrical systems with other disciplines.
- Perform Clash Detection & Coordination using Navisworks.
- Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical layouts, and detailed drawings.
- Prepare and review Load Schedules and required electrical design calculations.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and perform quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models.
- Prepare and review Material Submittals and Technical Submittals.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare RFIs and technical queries when discrepancies, conflicts, or unclear information are identified.
- Provide technical support to the site team during the execution of electrical works.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare and review electrical cost estimates and quotations.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to select suitable materials and equipment in accordance with approved specifications.
- Identify and propose Value Engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality or functionality.
- Update drawings based on approved design changes and project revisions.
- Prepare As-Built Drawings in accordance with project requirements.
- Support Testing & Commissioning activities and provide technical assistance when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in electrical design and technical office engineering.
- Experience in the design and execution of residential, commercial, hotel, and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Proven experience in preparing electrical designs and detailed execution drawings.
- Good experience in BIM and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Experience in BOQ, Quantity Take-off, and Pricing.
- Good knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
