The Electrical Foreman is responsible for supervising and leading a team of electricians and electrical technicians in the installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems. The role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians and electrical technicians on site
- Assign work tasks and ensure manpower is utilized effectively to meet project schedules
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications
- Monitor electrical installation works including cable laying, cable termination, panel installation, lighting systems, power distribution systems, and control systems
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, project requirements, and electrical standards
- Inspect completed work and rectify any deficiencies or non-conformities
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution
- Assist in testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Maintain records of daily work progress, manpower allocation, and material usage
- Ensure the availability of required tools, equipment, and materials on site
- Monitor productivity and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Enforce company HSE policies and ensure all personnel follow safe work practices
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for work crews
- Report work progress and site issues to the Electrical Supervisor
Requirements
- * Technical Diploma, ITI, or Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical installation and maintenance works
- At least 2 years of experience in a Foreman or Team Leader role
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or street lighting projects is preferred
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documents
