We're Hiring: Director of Retail Development | KAD – Kerdany Advisory and Development
Since 2012, KAD has advised mall developers and owners of mixed-use buildings across Egypt on how to plan, position and operate commercial destinations. Our work is technical at its core. It covers retail tenant mix strategy, Operational Design Assessments of architectural plans, and the production of fit-out and tenant operation manuals.
We're looking for a senior architect to join our leadership team. This person will lead our Retail Development team and, together with our Executive Management, represent KAD with clients from the first meeting through to delivery.
The role
- Lead and supervise our team of architects across tenant mix, architectural design brief, Operational Design Assessment and fit-out manual production.
- Own the technical quality, consistency and timely delivery of all Retail Development outputs
- Attend meetings with prospective and current clients alongside Executive Management, and lead the technical discussion
- Build strong working relationships with developers, owners and their design consultants
- Review architectural drawings and design proposals with an operational lens, and turn findings into clear, practical recommendations
- Mentor the team and develop KAD's internal methods and standards
The profile
- A degree in Architecture
- 15 years of experience in retail, mall or mixed-use projects, from the developer, design consultant or advisory side
- Experience in client-facing roles, with the presence to represent a firm in senior-level meetings
- Proven experience leading a design or technical team
- A solid understanding of how retail layouts, circulation, services and tenant requirements affect how a building operates
- Strong written and spoken communication in Arabic and English
