DevOps Engineer – IS Operations (24/6 Shift Model)

About the Role
We are hiring DevOps Engineers to join a high-impact IS Operations team at one of the world's leading financial technology companies based in Beirut. This is a support-focused role embedded within the client's IS Operations domain, you will be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and supporting mission-critical tooling that serves managed services teams and end clients globally.
This is not a DevOps engineering role. You won't be building pipelines from scratch, you'll be the person who keeps them running, responds when things break, and ensures every release goes smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor and support inhouse-developed platforms, microservices, and containerized services running on AWS
- Handle incidents, service requests, and change management tickets through ITSM tooling
- Execute and oversee Saturday releases with precision and accountability
- Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and escalate to senior engineers when needed
- Maintain knowledge base documentation and contribute to runbook improvements
- Collaborate with internal employees during shift handover to ensure continuity of operations
- Work rotating shifts as part of a 24/6 coverage model (Early Day, Evening, or Night)
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in an IT support, DevOps support, or systems operations role
- Hands-on familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (deployment, monitoring, basic troubleshooting)
- Working knowledge of AWS core services
- Understanding of microservices architecture and how distributed systems behave
- Experience with ITSM platforms (incident, change, and service request management)
- Basic awareness of CI/CD pipelines and release management processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you'll be dealing with both internal teams and client-facing issues
- Scripting skills in Bash or Python are a plus
- Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends
The Shift Model
This role operates on a rotating shift schedule. External consultants cover the following shifts (Monday–Friday and Saturday):
- Early Day: 7 AM – 4 PM (Monday starts at 4 AM)
- Evening: 2 PM – 11 PM
- Night: 10 PM – 8 AM
- Saturday Day: 8 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday Evening: 4 PM – 11:59 PM
You will be assigned one of the external shifts based on team needs and rotation. Shift scheduling is structured with handover overlaps to ensure smooth transitions.
