Role Description The Cost Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role is responsible for managing and controlling project costs across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and estimation through to final account and close-out. Day-to-day tasks include preparing cost plans and estimates, monitoring budgets, analysing variances, and providing clear cost reports and forecasts to internal teams and clients. The Cost Manager will review contracts, change orders, and claims, ensure cost data is accurately documented, and support value engineering initiatives to optimise project outcomes.
The position involves close collaboration with project managers, designers, and external stakeholders to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with client objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cost planning, estimating, budgeting, and financial monitoring for construction and real estate projects.
- Experience in contract administration, change management, and claims evaluation within consultancy or construction environments.
- Proficiency in cost management tools and software, Excel-based financial modeling, and data analysis.
- Knowledge of regional construction market rates, procurement processes, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as MRICS are highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex cost information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site project environment and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Prior experience in the Gulf region, especially Qatar or Saudi Arabia, is an advantage.
