**Business Development Manager
Position Purpose
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the company’s business growth by identifying new business opportunities, acquiring new clients, developing strategic relationships, and generating revenue across the company’s Marketing, Advertising, Creative, Production, and related services.
The role is responsible for managing the business development cycle from prospecting and lead generation through client meetings, proposals, negotiations, and closing, while maintaining a strong and measurable sales pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Lead Generation

Identify and develop new business opportunities across relevant industries and market segments.

Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.

Research and identify potential clients, decision-makers, and business opportunities.

Conduct proactive outreach through calls, emails, meetings, networking, referrals, and other business development channels.

Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and potential clients.

Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships and collaborations.
- Sales & Client Acquisition

Lead the sales process from initial prospecting through to closing.

Arrange and conduct meetings with prospective clients.

Understand client business objectives, challenges, and marketing requirements.

Present the company’s services, capabilities, portfolio, and solutions.

Convert qualified leads into active opportunities and signed contracts.

Follow up consistently with prospects and ensure timely progression of opportunities.

Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
- Proposal & Pitch Management

Prepare and coordinate commercial proposals, presentations, quotations, and pitches.

Work closely with the Marketing, Creative, Production, and Account Management teams to develop tailored solutions for clients.

Ensure proposals accurately reflect the client’s requirements, scope of work, timelines, and commercial terms.

Participate in pitch presentations and client negotiations.

Follow up on submitted proposals and maintain accurate records of their status.
- Commercial Management

Understand project costs, pricing, margins, and commercial requirements.

Coordinate with management and relevant departments to develop competitive and profitable quotations.

Participate in commercial negotiations with clients.

Identify opportunities to increase deal value through additional services, upselling, and cross-selling.

Ensure commercial opportunities align with the company’s revenue and profitability objectives.
- Client & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and prospects.

Act as a trusted business contact during the business development and pre-sales process.

Maintain regular communication with key prospects and clients.

Understand client needs and identify opportunities for future business.

Coordinate with the Account Management team during client handover after closing.
- Market & Competitor Analysis

Monitor market trends, client needs, industry developments, and competitor activities.

Identify emerging business opportunities and new market segments.

Provide management with relevant market and commercial insights.
-
Monitor competitor offerings, positioning, and pricing where applicable.
- Internal Coordination

Coordinate with the Marketing, Creative, Production, Finance, and Account Management teams to ensure opportunities are properly assessed and delivered.

Provide internal teams with clear client requirements and business objectives.

Support the smooth transition of newly acquired clients to the Account Management and Project/Production teams.

Ensure commitments made during the sales process are aligned with the company’s capabilities and delivery capacity.
- Reporting & Sales Pipeline Management

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline.

Prepare regular business development and sales reports.

Track leads, opportunities, proposals, negotiations, and closed deals.

Provide management with forecasts of expected sales and revenue.

Monitor performance against agreed sales targets and KPIs.

Maintain accurate records using the company’s CRM or designated reporting system.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Management, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, Account Management, or a related commercial role.

Experience within a Marketing, Advertising, Media, Production, Creative Agency, or related industry is highly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to generate leads and convert opportunities into business.

Strong understanding of sales and business development processes.

Experience in client-facing and commercial negotiations.

Strong understanding of marketing and production services is an advantage.

The Business Development Manager is accountable for the development and conversion of new business opportunities and for achieving assigned sales and revenue targets.
The position is expected to proactively identify opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, lead client acquisition activities, and coordinate internally to ensure that commercial commitments are aligned with the company’s capabilities and objectives.
