Overview
This role is responsible for performing daily bank reconciliations across assigned regions, ensuring all bank transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled to the general ledger. As a key control over cash, the role ensures the completeness and accuracy of bank reconciliations, investigates outstanding items, and supports accurate cash reporting through the validation of balances against independent bank records.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, upload, and reconcile daily bank statements for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and submit daily cash and bank reports within agreed timelines.
- Reconcile receipts, payments, intercompany transfers, and bank transactions.
- Investigate, track, and escalate unmatched or unusual transactions.
- Reconcile unidentified receipts, suspense accounts, clearing accounts, and foreign currency accounts.
- Monitor outstanding reconciliation items and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare and complete month-end bank reconciliations, ensuring all reconciling items are supported and documented.
- Respond to review queries and maintain accurate reconciliation records and audit evidence.
- Provide reconciliation reports, metrics, and analysis to management.
Qualifications
- Degree in accounting or finance, or part-qualified with ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent body.
Experience
- 2-4 years in bank reconciliation, cash management or treasury operations, ideally across several banks and currencies.
Technical knowledge
- Bank reconciliation mechanics and reconciling item types.
- Bank portals and statement formats; cash suspense and clearing accounts.
- Intercompany cash transfers and foreign currency accounts.
- Oracle EBS R12 Cash Management or a comparable ERP.
- Advanced Excel.
