Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will be responsible for managing collections and receivables activities across complex client and broker accounts. The role focuses on timely collections, accurate reconciliations, dispute resolution, portfolio ageing, and supporting effective cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of complex broker and client accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables.
- Monitor accounts receivable, ageing reports, overdue balances, payment irregularities, and collection risks.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate variances, unapplied receipts, and disputed transactions.
- Conduct collection follow-ups, payment discussions, and negotiations with brokers and clients to secure outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Finance, and other relevant functions to resolve payment-related issues and account discrepancies.
- Handle client and broker queries professionally and escalate complex disputes, long-outstanding balances, and high-risk accounts when required.
- Maintain accurate collection trackers, reconciliation records, ageing reports, action plans, and expected payment dates.
- Prepare collection forecasts, cash flow updates, and management reports while highlighting emerging risks and collection trends.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit documentation standards.
- Achieve assigned collection targets and contribute to reducing overdue and aged receivables across the assigned portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Credit Control, Finance Operations, or a similar function.
- Previous experience within the insurance or financial services sector is required.
- Experience managing complex broker, corporate, or high-value client accounts is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with reconciliations, collections, disputes, payment negotiations, and stakeholder escalations.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with financial data, trackers, ageing reports, and reconciliations.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems.
- Ability to prepare accurate reports and maintain structured financial records.
- Excellent English, both written and spoken.
