Job Title: Accounts Executive – Ship Owning & Management

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Executive to join our Finance team at SVA Ship Management LLC, a leading ship-owning and management company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounting operations for vessels and corporate accounting, ensuring timely financial reporting, and supporting various compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Vessel Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Invoice Approval & Processing: Ensure timely approval, recording, and processing of invoices for payment. Ensure compliance with payment terms.
- Portage Bill Verification: Coordinate with the master and fleet personnel department to verify portage bills. Process payments on time.
- Crew Wage Remittance: Work closely with bankers and manning agents to ensure timely remittance of crew wages.
- Monthly MIS & Variance Analysis: Generate and present monthly Management Information System (MIS) reports for vessels, including performing variance analysis to identify any discrepancies or issues.
Corporate Accounting:
- Transaction Recording: Ensure accurate recording of purchase and expense invoices, sales invoices, bank payment receipts, petty cash entries, and foreign inward remittances.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including tax filings and submissions as per local regulations.
- Debit Notes Generation: Generate debit notes for reimbursement of expenses incurred on behalf of vessels or other company activities.
Software Utilization:
- Utilize Mari App and Tally accounting software to perform day-to-day accounting functions efficiently, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. Additional certifications in accounting (e.g., ACCA) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the shipping or maritime industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Navision, Tally). Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
