THE CLIENT
Our client is an established commodities and financial markets business operating from the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and Singapore. The firm provides trading and hedging solutions to corporate clients, with a particular focus on the energy sector, and is active across listed derivatives markets.
The business supports corporate clients in managing their commodity price exposure through structured hedging programmes and derivatives transactions, working closely with exchanges, clearing brokers and banking counterparties across the Middle East and Asia.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Systems Administrator will be the Company's on-site technology lead in the UAE office, responsible for keeping systems running, users productive and IT issues resolved quickly. In a fast-paced trading environment where downtime has a direct commercial impact, this is a hands-on role for a practical, responsive professional who takes ownership of the day-to-day technology the business relies on.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide hands-on, in-office IT support to all staff, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues promptly.
- Ensure all office systems, workstations, trading screens and peripherals are operational at the start of each trading day.
- Maintain the office network, including Wi-Fi, firewalls, switches, routers and internet connectivity, with appropriate redundancy.
- Administer Microsoft 365 or equivalent, including email, Teams, SharePoint, user accounts, licences and permissions.
- Support connectivity to trading platforms, market data services, broker systems and exchange front-ends.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including device set-up, access provisioning and account removal.
- Maintain IT security controls, including endpoint protection, patching, multi-factor authentication and access management.
- Manage data backups and test recovery procedures to support business continuity.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware, software and licences.
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors, service providers and telecoms suppliers.
- Set up and support meeting room, video-conferencing and telephony equipment.
- Document systems, configurations and procedures, and maintain a log of IT issues and resolutions.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to systems and infrastructure.
- Support remote connectivity and coordination with the Singapore office where required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE – EXPERIENCE
- 3–5+ years of experience in a systems administration, IT support or infrastructure role.
- Experience supporting a small to mid-sized office as the primary or sole on-site IT resource.
- Experience within financial services, trading, brokerage or a similarly time-critical environment is highly desirable.
- Exposure to trading platforms, market data terminals or exchange connectivity is a strong advantage.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are an advantage.
