Cube Metal Industries is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Officer – Aluminum & Glazing to oversee and coordinate technical and engineering activities related to aluminum, glazing, and facade projects.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in facade engineering, with the ability to review engineering designs, supervise technical deliverables, and ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering & Technical Supervision
- Review project specifications, contract requirements, IFC drawings, and BOQs.
- Supervise the preparation and review of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, material submittals, and other engineering deliverables.
- Review engineering designs and technical proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Identify technical risks, design discrepancies, and engineering challenges, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Review technical specifications related to aluminum profiles, glazing systems, curtain walls, skylights, and facade components.
2. Project Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant departments.
- Monitor engineering schedules, technical submissions, approvals, and project milestones.
- Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and technical documentation to production and installation teams.
- Review and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs), technical clarifications, and consultant comments.
- Participate in technical coordination meetings and communicate engineering requirements and project progress.
3. Quality Assurance & Technical Support
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, approved standards, and quality requirements.
- Review engineering drawings, fabrication requirements, and material specifications for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with production and quality control teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical support to procurement teams in evaluating materials, suppliers, and proposed solutions.
4. Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor engineering progress, technical deliverables, and outstanding issues.
- Prepare engineering progress reports and communicate technical concerns to the Technical Manager.
- Maintain proper documentation and revision control of engineering drawings and technical approvals.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, coordination, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aluminum, glazing, and facade engineering.
- Experience in engineering design, planning, and technical coordination.
- Experience in reviewing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of aluminum, glazing, curtain wall, and facade systems.
- Good understanding of structural engineering principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong technical coordination and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
