Who We're Looking For:
- Maintain reliable operation of the Company's in-scope infrastructure and networks, resolve escalated incidents, and execute controlled maintenance and recovery activities.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, virtualization, storage and backup platforms. Maintain system health, access permissions and scheduled operations.
- Operate and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPN and connectivity services. Implement approved network and firewall changes in coordination with cybersecurity and the company.
- Own escalated incidents through diagnosis, service restoration, validation and closure. Collect technical evidence and coordinate L3, OEM, ISP and vendor support where required.
- Investigate infrastructure alerts, identify performance bottlenecks and monitor CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth utilization. Recommend preventive actions before service degradation occurs.
- Assess and implement approved patches, upgrades and configuration changes using impact assessments, maintenance windows, testing and rollback procedures.
- Monitor backup success, investigate failures, verify protection coverage and perform approved restore tests and DR exercises against agreed recovery objectives.
- Implement approved system hardening, vulnerability remediation, privileged-access controls and certificate renewals in coordination with the cybersecurity engineer.
- Perform authorized equipment installation, replacement and physical troubleshooting. Guide Service Desk engineers providing onsite assistance and validate the completed work.
- Investigate recurring incidents, document root causes and implement corrective actions. Maintain known-error records and practical troubleshooting guides.
- Maintain network diagrams, configurations, asset/CMDB records and operational runbooks. Automate approved repetitive tasks and share knowledge with Service Desk teams.
- Participate in discovery, knowledge transfer, reverse shadowing and readiness testing. Support major incidents and scheduled maintenance under the agreed roster.
What You’ll Need:
- 5–8 years in enterprise infrastructure, including at least 3 years resolving L2 incidents. Recruit complementary strengths: one engineer stronger in networking and one stronger in systems, virtualization, backup and recovery. Prefer CCNA or equivalent competence and CCNP Enterprise [3] for the networking specialist. Select operating-system, virtualization and backup vendor training to match company's installed platforms. Practice restores testing and controlled automation.
- Networking: TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS/DHCP and packet analysis.
- Systems: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Linux administration and permissions management.
- Virtualization and storage: VM provisioning, hypervisor troubleshooting, high availability, SAN/NAS and storage capacity management.
- Recovery: Backup administration, restore testing, replication, retention and RPO/RTO understanding.
- Security: System hardening, patching, vulnerability remediation, MFA and least-privilege access.
- Monitoring: Alert investigation, log analysis, performance monitoring and capacity forecasting.
- Automation: PowerShell or Bash; Ansible and Python are additional advantages.
- Service management: Incident ownership, change control, root cause analysis, documentation and vendor coordination.
