At Viaplay Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, and TV channels. We believe in the power of content not just as a way of telling stories and touching lives, but also expanding worlds.
We’re looking for the best people to join us on our journey. Right now, we’re searching for a Fullstack AI Engineer in our Stockholm office – are you ready to hit play on an exciting career change?
The RoleYou’ll join a small, multidisciplinary team building products that create value for our users and business. Working closely with product, design and engineering colleagues, you’ll turn agreed opportunities into working products and validate them with users.
AI will be a core part of how you build and deliver from development through testing and validation. You’ll help improve these ways of working and share what works with the wider organisation.
You’ll bring hands-on experience across frontend and backend development, with deeper expertise in one or both. You’ll build the services and experiences needed to deliver complete products, contributing beyond your main specialism and taking responsibility for how the software performs in production.
The team starts with a lab approach: focused scope, short feedback loops, and room to experiment. As we learn what works, the aim is to evolve into an established structure with ongoing product responsibilities. You’ll help shape that journey and take care of the products as they develop.
What Your Day Might Look Like
- Turn agreed product scope into working products and testable releases
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations
- Build frontend experiences that connect those services to users
- Apply and improve advanced AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and validation
- Integrate AI capabilities where they add value to the product
- Work with product and design to use data, user insights, and hypotheses to guide implementation and validate outcomes
- Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability as products develop
- Contribute to deployment, maintenance, and operation, taking responsibility for the software you deliver
What We’re Looking ForYou’ve used AI across substantial parts of product delivery, beyond individual coding suggestions. You can explain your contribution, how you verified the result, and what you learned.
For This Role, We’re Looking For
- * Technical depth: Strong engineering expertise in frontend or backend development, or both. You can make architecture trade-offs and deliver reliable software using automated testing, debugging, and production monitoring
- Practical width: Hands-on experience across frontend development with React or a comparable framework and backend development with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, including APIs, integrations and data handling, enabling you to deliver complete products across the stack
- AI-native delivery: Experience using advanced workflows, such as agent-based or spec-driven development. You can structure work for AI, provide context, evaluate the resulting software, and take responsibility for what reaches production
- Product experience: Work in a product organisation and a cross-functional product team with product managers and designers. You use data and user insights to test hypotheses, validate value, and take shared responsibility for outcomes after release
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Experience building backend services or systems in Rust and/or Python
- Experience with AWS and distributed, event-driven or serverless systems
- Experience with automated delivery pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Experience with mobile development or other technologies that broaden your contribution
- Experience with experimentation tooling and optimising toward user experience metrics
- Experience with integration of AI/ML products and incorporating user feedback signals as feedback
You bring approaches we can learn from and can demonstrate where AI has improved your delivery, as well as where it has required more care. You are comfortable challenging existing practices and helping the team test better ones.
We value curiosity, ownership and colleagues who are generous with their knowledge and help others succeed.
What's in it for you
An opportunity to help shape how Viaplay builds products with AI. You’ll work closely with colleagues across disciplines, contribute across the stack, and see how your work influences both the products we deliver and the way the team develops.
You’ll join at a stage where there is room to experiment and help establish practices that can benefit the wider organisation.
