About the Role
We are seeking experienced Freelance SAT and/or IELTS Instructors to join our growing international network of educators.
This is a fully remote, long-term freelance opportunity focused on delivering high-quality, personalized test preparation to international high school students.
The ideal candidate is a skilled and engaging educator who combines strong subject knowledge with a structured, results-oriented teaching approach.
We currently have 120 teaching hours already committed, with anticipated demand of up to 500 hours annually, depending on student enrollment and preparation needs.
Candidates specializing in either Digital SAT Reading & Writing or IELTS Academic are encouraged to apply. Experience in both examinations is an advantage but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging one-on-one online SAT and/or IELTS preparation sessions.
Develop individualized study plans based on diagnostic assessments, target scores, and application deadlines.
Adapt teaching methods to different proficiency levels and learning needs.
Prepare students using relevant exam strategies, practice exercises, and timed assessments.
Conduct initial assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Monitor student performance through regular exercises, mock tests, and structured feedback.
Maintain concise progress reports documenting learning objectives, completed topics, and recommendations.
Adjust preparation plans based on student performance and evolving needs.
Develop and adapt instructional materials, including practice exercises, worksheets, and presentations.
Ensure all teaching materials are aligned with current Digital SAT and/or IELTS Academic requirements.
Stay informed about updates to exam formats, scoring criteria, and effective teaching methodologies.
Maintain clear and professional communication with students and the YWEL team.
Encourage student accountability, consistent practice, and independent learning.
Communicate relevant progress updates and preparation recommendations.
Occasionally contribute to online workshops or small-group preparation sessions when required.
Qualifications
Required
Demonstrated experience teaching IELTS Academic and/or Digital SAT.
Strong knowledge of the relevant examination structure, content, and scoring criteria.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Proven ability to deliver effective online lessons and explain complex concepts clearly.
Experience developing personalized study plans and adapting instruction based on student performance.
Confidence using digital teaching tools, video conferencing platforms, and online learning resources.
Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently.
Availability to accommodate students across different international time zones.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent teaching qualifications.
Experience teaching international or multilingual students.
Previous experience supporting students targeting competitive SAT or IELTS scores.
IELTS examiner experience or relevant high-level examination scores.
Familiarity with university admissions requirements in the USA, UK, Europe, or Canada.
Experience creating educational content or providing academic essay proofreading.
