We are seeking qualified and motivated Fire Fighters to join an operational emergency response team.
Opportunities may be considered across different levels of seniority, from developing Fire Fighters through to experienced senior/crew leadership profiles. Appointment level will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, certifications and demonstrated operational capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire, rescue and emergency incidents safely, effectively and in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate firefighting and rescue equipment and support the safe deployment of emergency response resources.
- Participate in emergency drills, exercises and ongoing operational training.
- Conduct routine inspections and checks of firefighting vehicles, equipment and safety systems.
- Maintain operational readiness, including required physical and medical fitness standards.
- Complete relevant operational records, incident reports and equipment documentation.
- Maintain required certifications and participate in mandatory refresher training and competency assessments.
- Follow all applicable health, safety, emergency response and operational procedures.
- For more experienced candidates, provide guidance to crew members and support or lead operational activities where appropriately qualified.
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
Candidates should hold recognised firefighting qualifications appropriate to their level of experience, including:
- Fire Fighter Initial Course / Initial Firefighter Training certification
- ICAO-recognised aviation firefighting certification or equivalent recognised qualification
- Relevant and valid firefighting/emergency response certifications
- Ability to meet required medical and physical fitness standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence
- Aviation / airport firefighting experience
- Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) training or equivalent
- Crew Commander or supervisory firefighting certification for senior-level candidates
- Additional rescue, emergency response or specialist firefighting qualifications
Experience
We welcome candidates across different experience levels. Previous professional firefighting or emergency response experience is preferred, with aviation firefighting experience considered an advantage.
More experienced candidates should be able to demonstrate crew leadership, operational command, training or supervisory responsibilities relevant to their level.
