Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join the finance team supporting a massive international sports event in Saudi Arabia. This is a contract-based opportunity for a finance professional with strong financial control, reporting, budgeting, and compliance experience.
Key Responsibilities
- * Oversee day-to-day financial control activities for the project.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and project financial reports.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts, actual expenditure, and financial commitments.
- Analyse budget variances and provide clear explanations and recommendations.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and general ledger activities.
- Review invoices, payment requests, purchase orders, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Coordinate with procurement, operations, commercial, and other project teams on financial matters.
- Prepare financial data and reports for senior management.
- Support audits and provide required financial documentation.
- Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and control issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in line with required standards.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist with additional financial reporting or control requirements throughout the project.

Required Qualifications
- * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
Experience Requirement5+ years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, finance management, or a similar role. Previous experience supporting large-scale events, sports, entertainment, hospitality, construction, infrastructure, or major projects is advantageous.
Location / Work ModeKSA - Immediate start, contract duration until February 2027, fixed-term/project-based.
