job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Contract Engineer with a strong background in Civil or Architectural Engineering and extensive experience in contract administration, particularly FIDIC contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, protecting the company’s contractual rights, and supporting the project team in commercial and contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage construction, Fit-Out, and Joint Venture (JV) contracts in accordance with contractual requirements and project procedures.
- Strong practical knowledge and experience with FIDIC contracts, including Red, Yellow, and Silver Books.
- Review and interpret contracts, specifications, drawings, BOQs, and project documentation.
- Manage Variations, Claims, EOT, contractual notices, payment certificates, and final accounts.
- Evaluate contractor/subcontractor claims, variations, delays, and contractual entitlements.
- Identify contractual risks and support claims prevention, dispute resolution, and negotiations.
- Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, notices, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Planning, Cost Control, Procurement, and Legal teams.
- Maintain Contract, Claims, Variation, and Correspondence Registers.
- Provide contractual and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle, including building, architectural, Fit-Out, and JV projects.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in construction/project contracts, preferably on major infrastructure, building, or development projects.
- Extensive practical experience in FIDIC contracts and contract administration.
- Strong knowledge of Claims Management, Variations, EOT, Delay Analysis, and Dispute Resolution.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, clients, and project management teams.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, schedules, and project documentation.
- Excellent contractual writing, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera is an advantage.
