Position Summary
SEHA is seeking a highly qualified Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Consultant to provide specialized psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for children, adolescents, and their families. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering evidence-based mental health services while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with pediatricians, psychologists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Support family-centered care through counseling, education, and guidance.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with SEHA and DOH standards.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and patient safety programs.
- Participate in teaching, mentoring, and continuous professional development activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a recognized residency training program in Psychiatry.
- Fellowship, Board Certification, or equivalent qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- DOH License or Eligibility as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
- Proven experience in managing child and adolescent psychiatric conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in tertiary care, academic, or specialized mental health settings.
- Experience in developmental disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and behavioral disorders.
- Interest in teaching, research, and service development.
