Role Overview
We are seeking a client-facing Business Analyst with strong experience in software workflow design, business process analysis, wireframing, and process re-engineering. The role will work closely with clients, product owners, designers, architects, developers, and QA teams to translate complex business requirements into simple, practical, and user-friendly digital solutions.
The ideal candidate can understand existing operational processes, identify inefficiencies, propose improved future-state workflows, and produce clear wireframes, process maps, requirements, and user stories. The candidate should also be comfortable using AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, documentation, prototyping, and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Discovery
- Conduct workshops, interviews, observation sessions, and requirement-gathering meetings with clients and end users.
- Understand business objectives, operational challenges, user roles, policies, approval structures, and system dependencies.
- Ask structured questions to identify the underlying business need rather than documenting requests without analysis.
- Act as the bridge between client stakeholders and product, UX, engineering, QA, data, and AI teams.
- Present findings, proposed workflows, wireframes, and recommendations clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
- Maintain requirement traceability and manage clarifications, decisions, assumptions, and scope changes.
Business Process Analysis and Re-engineering
- Document current-state processes, pain points, bottlenecks, manual activities, duplicate steps, delays, and control gaps.
- Design simplified future-state processes that reduce unnecessary steps, approvals, data entry, handoffs, and user effort.
- Recommend process re-engineering opportunities using workflow automation, system integrations, reusable data, intelligent routing, and AI assistance.
- Define business rules, decision points, exceptions, escalations, approval gates, service levels, and role-based responsibilities.
- Ensure proposed workflows remain practical, compliant, auditable, scalable, and aligned with client policies.
- Measure expected improvements through indicators such as processing time, number of steps, turnaround time, error rate, automation rate, and user effort.
Workflow and Software Solution Design
- Translate business processes into structured digital workflows for web and mobile applications.
- Design end-to-end journeys for applicants, customers, officers, supervisors, administrators, and other user roles.
- Define form flows, work queues, case or application lifecycles, dashboards, task actions, notifications, approvals, returns, escalations, and status tracking.
- Ensure clear separation between applicant-facing services and staff-facing operational workspaces.
- Map data capture, document requirements, validations, integrations, system actions, and user actions at every workflow stage.
- Identify edge cases, alternate paths, failure scenarios, dependencies, and recovery flows.
- Work with solution architects and developers to ensure designs are technically feasible and ready for implementation.
Wireframes and Prototypes
- Produce low- and medium-fidelity wireframes illustrating screens, navigation, forms, workflows, dashboards, and user actions.
- Create clickable prototypes where required to validate the proposed experience with clients and users.
- Design horizontal and vertical process steppers, application forms, review screens, work queues, case dockets, dashboards, and role-based workspaces.
- Use realistic sample content and data so stakeholders can understand the complete experience.
- Incorporate client feedback while maintaining usability, consistency, accessibility, and process integrity.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to convert approved wireframes into polished user interfaces.
Requirements and Documentation
- Prepare business requirement documents, functional requirements, process maps, workflow specifications, and use cases.
- Write clear user stories with acceptance criteria, business rules, validations, permissions, dependencies, and exception scenarios.
- Define role-based access requirements and permitted actions for each workflow stage.
- Maintain requirement traceability from business need through design, development, testing, and acceptance.
- Prepare field-level specifications, data dictionaries, status definitions, notification requirements, and integration requirements.
- Support backlog prioritization, sprint planning, product demonstrations, UAT, release readiness, and post-release reviews.
AI Tools and AI-Assisted Workflows
- Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate research, workshop preparation, documentation, wireframing, user-story creation, test-scenario generation, and requirements analysis.
- Identify suitable opportunities for AI-assisted data capture, document classification, OCR, summarization, recommendations, search, workflow guidance, and decision support.
- Design human-review and approval controls for AI-generated outputs.
- Clearly distinguish deterministic business rules from probabilistic AI recommendations.
- Define confidence indicators, source references, exception handling, audit trails, and escalation requirements for AI-enabled features.
- Validate AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, bias, privacy, security, and alignment with business policy.
- Understand that AI should support authorized users and should not make unreviewed consequential decisions.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field.
- Approximately 4–8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Functional Consultant, Process Analyst, or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with clients and conducting business discovery workshops.
- Strong experience designing software workflows, digital services, case-management systems, enterprise applications, or transactional platforms.
- Proven ability to create process maps, user journeys, wireframes, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience analysing and re-engineering complex business processes.
- Good understanding of web applications, mobile applications, APIs, integrations, databases, workflow engines, and role-based access control.
- Experience supporting Agile delivery teams throughout design, development, testing, UAT, and release.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Arabic capability would be an advantage for projects in the GCC.
