About the Role
We are looking for a QA-focused Business Analyst to join our team.
In this role, Quality Assurance and software testing will be the primary focus, while Business Analysis skills will be essential to ensure that business requirements are correctly understood, translated into testable specifications, and validated throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on QA and testing experience with solid Business Analysis skills. You will work closely with Business Stakeholders, Product Managers, Developers, Designers, and QA teams to ensure that requirements are clear, solutions are functionally correct, and delivered products meet both business expectations and quality standards.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys analysing requirements, designing and executing tests, identifying defects, supporting UAT, and ensuring end-to-end product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Design, create, execute, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test suites, and test plans based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Analyse requirements and user stories to identify potential quality risks, ambiguities, gaps, and edge cases before development starts.
- Validate that delivered functionality meets defined acceptance criteria, business requirements, and expected user outcomes.
- Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects through to resolution.
- Perform defect verification and regression testing after fixes.
- Investigate issues and work closely with Developers and Product teams to understand root causes and expected behaviour.
- Support end-to-end testing across different features, systems, and integrations.
- Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure appropriate QA coverage throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Support release validation and provide feedback regarding product quality and potential risks.
- Participate in UAT activities and work with business users to validate that solutions meet real business needs.
Business Analysis
- Gather, analyse, clarify, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes, objectives, user needs, and expected outcomes.
- Translate business needs into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Write and maintain use cases, functional specifications, process flows, and other requirements documentation.
- Identify requirements gaps, inconsistencies, dependencies, assumptions, and potential risks.
- Analyse current and future business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure requirements are sufficiently detailed and testable before development begins.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, Product, Development, and QA teams.
- Provide ongoing clarification of requirements throughout the development and testing lifecycle.
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Work closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Developers, Designers, and other QA professionals.
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to estimation and planning of testing and QA activities.
- Provide QA and business analysis input during feature development and refinement.
- Communicate testing progress, defects, risks, dependencies, and quality concerns clearly to relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date requirements, test, defect, and project documentation.
Requirements
- 2–3+ years of professional experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing, ideally with additional experience as a Business Analyst or in a BA-focused role.
- Strong hands-on experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Practical experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, test plans, and test suites.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, system, exploratory, and UAT testing.
- Strong experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and verifying software defects.
- Experience analysing business and functional requirements from a QA perspective.
- Ability to identify ambiguities, gaps, inconsistencies, and missing acceptance criteria in requirements.
- Experience writing or reviewing user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for test management, project tracking, and defect management.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into clear and comprehensive testing approaches.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a Business Analyst + QA hybrid role.
- Experience with API testing and tools such as Postman or similar.
- Experience with SQL and database validation.
- Familiarity with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar.
- Experience with mobile, web, or SaaS product testing.
- Basic understanding of automated testing concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with complex integrations or third-party systems.
- Experience defining or improving QA processes and testing strategies.

The primary focus of the role is ensuring software quality through effective analysis, test planning, test execution, defect management, and validation. At the same time, you will use your Business Analysis skills to make sure that requirements are clear, complete, testable, and aligned with business needs.
You should be comfortable asking the right questions, challenging unclear requirements, thinking about edge cases, identifying risks, and working collaboratively with different teams to prevent issues before they reach production.
