Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cost Accountant role based in Qesm 1st New Cairo. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting project costs, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses across civil, steel, finishing, and interior design activities. Typical tasks include preparing and reviewing cost reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements related to project performance. The role also involves monitoring variances, conducting cost-benefit analyses, collaborating with project and finance teams to optimize cost efficiency, and supporting management with clear, data-driven insights for decision-making.
Qualifications
- Strong cost accounting skills, including experience with project costing and cost control in construction or industrial environments.
- Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements and management reports.
- Solid analytical skills with the capacity to perform variance analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and data-driven decision support.
- Proficiency in journal entries (accounting) and general ledger processes, ensuring accurate and timely postings.
- Foundational finance knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow awareness.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CMA) is a plus.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in a professional business environment.
