Overview of the Role
As a Cloud Architecture & FinOps Expert, you will play a pivotal role in defining and optimizing cloud architectures to ensure maximum performance and cost efficiency. Your expertise will directly impact HCLTech’s ability to deliver innovative, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions for its clients. You will be responsible for integrating FinOps principles into cloud design, driving adoption of best practices, and supporting governance frameworks that align with business objectives.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Define and evolve cloud architectures incorporating FinOps principles such as cost optimization, right-sizing, and service selection.
- Implement optimization recommendations, including reservation strategies, autoscaling, and storage/compute efficiency enhancements.
- Analyze cloud usage and consumption patterns to identify and activate cost optimization levers.
- Integrate FinOps requirements into architectural standards (design-to-cost and efficiency-by-design).
- Guide and support technical teams in adopting cloud and FinOps best practices.
- Deploy and manage tools and mechanisms for monitoring cloud costs and performance.
- Contribute to cloud and FinOps governance, including frameworks, management rules, and controls.
Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and FinOps practices.
- Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services.
- Proven expertise in cost optimization, resource allocation, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting cloud usage and consumption data.
- Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and cost monitoring tools.
- Excellent communication and mentoring abilities for supporting technical teams.
- Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect) and/or FinOps.
