Role Overview: A Behavioral Health Therapist V provides outpatient mental health services to individuals of all ages to promote healthy interactions and relationships within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- * Conduct interviews to identify problems, assess mental status, gather psychosocial history, and assign DSM diagnoses.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using person-centered and best practice approaches.
- Assess psychiatric crises, provide crisis intervention, and collaborate with psychiatrists.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations.
- Refer clients to outside agencies for additional support and provide information within confidentiality guidelines.
- Perform crisis assessments, stabilization, and service coordination to ensure safety and de-escalation.
- Offer coverage for Emergency Services and on-call support outside regular hours.
- Maintain licensure, participate in ongoing training, and stay current with best practices.
- Build positive community relationships and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Provide clinical consultation and travel to community and outreach locations as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- * Master’s degree in Human Services or related field.
- Licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychological Associate (LPA).
- Preferred experience in counseling or therapy, though not required.
- Strong interpersonal, assessment, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.
