Infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Linux and Windows servers, virtualization hosts, and network infrastructure.
- Manage Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, including user accounts, access, and device policies.
- Handle patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation across servers and endpoints.
- Maintain backups and run disaster recovery tests.
- Manage VPN, firewall rules, and network segmentation.
Security monitoring and first response
- Triage alerts, separate false positives from real incidents, and respond first when something is real.
- Contain compromised machines and accounts (isolate, disable, reset credentials, revoke sessions).
- Investigate incidents, document root cause, and write the post-incident report.
- Escalate high-severity incidents to the IT Operations Manager with a clear summary.
Hardening and compliance
- Apply and maintain security baselines on servers and endpoints.
- Enforce least-privilege access, MFA, and endpoint protection coverage.
- Run periodic access reviews and vulnerability scans, and track findings to closure.
- Collect evidence and support audits and compliance work.
Documentation and ownership
- Maintain runbooks, asset inventory, and incident procedures.
- Document infrastructure changes.
