About The JobWe’re hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the server-side systems that power our products—and to lead a small team of developers. You’ll own APIs, services, and data layers while mentoring intermediate engineers, guiding technical decisions, and pushing the product forward in a fast-paced environment. This role is about delivering: shipping product features on tight schedules without sacrificing quality. We embrace modern AI-assisted development tools, and you’ll be encouraged to use them to move quickly.
Responsibilities
- * Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases
- Deliver product features on tight schedules and drive the product roadmap forward
- Lead and mentor a small team of intermediate developers, providing guidance and code reviews
- Set technical direction and uphold code quality, architecture, and best practices
- Write clean, testable, well-documented code
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product, and design to deliver features
Requirements
- * Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages (e.g. Python, Go, Java, Node.js)
- Experience designing and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs
- Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling
- Proven ability to deliver quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience mentoring or leading developers
- Familiarity with version control, testing, and CI/CD practices
- Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) to boost productivity
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
