Job description:
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Support the Chief Electrician in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of generators, transformers, electric motors, and associated equipment.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of SCR, AC-AC, and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
- Perform maintenance and repair activities on electrical components of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Assist in servicing and maintaining galley, accommodation, and domestic electrical appliances and equipment.
- Support the maintenance and repair of electrical heating systems and hot water heater components.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing electrical components of water-making systems, where applicable.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of lighting systems across rig and camp facilities.
- Assist in maintaining and repairing electrical control systems for drilling equipment, including mud pumps, cement pumps, rotary tables, top drives, drawworks, and Eddy Current (EC) brakes.
- Support maintenance activities for air purge pressure systems associated with drilling equipment located in hazardous areas.
- Assist in the maintenance, testing, and operation of solid-state circuits and motor starter systems.
- Support scheduled inspection, testing, and maintenance of Motor Control Center (MCC) protective devices.
- Assist in the maintenance, testing, and repair of AC motors and related electrical equipment.
- Adhere to company safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements while carrying out all electrical maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment issues to the Chief Electrician for corrective action.
 
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- 0 - 2 Years of experience.
