Role Description The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, reviewing prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, and providing clear counseling to patients on proper use, side effects, and interactions. Day-to-day activities include managing medication inventory, overseeing the preparation and labeling of prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations and safety standards. The role also involves collaborating with prescribers, maintaining thorough patient records, and assisting in health promotion initiatives such as medication reviews and chronic disease management support. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Helena Pharmacy in Sohar.
Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and prescription processing, with the ability to review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and safety.
* Skills in patient counseling, clear communication, and customer service to provide supportive, respectful care to a diverse patient population.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing inventory, documentation, and adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and pharmacy team members in a fast-paced, community setting.
* Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution and valid pharmacist licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as required by local regulations.
* Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and basic computer applications; experience in community pharmacy practice is an advantage.
* Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, continuous learning, and adherence to patient safety protocols.
