Purpose of the Role
The Vice President – Digital & Innovation is responsible for leading the organization’s digital-transformation, innovation, service-innovation, and strategic-partnership agenda. The role ensures digital and innovation investments deliver measurable business value, strengthen competitiveness, improve customer and employee experience, and enable sustainable growth.
Working closely with the CEO, executive leadership, CoE & Innovation, Solutions & Partnerships, IT Operations, and business functions, the role sets transformation priorities and governs the innovation portfolio.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and direct the Digital & Innovation strategy.
- Define digital-transformation, innovation, service-development, and partnership priorities.
- Identify emerging technologies, business models, and market developments with potential organizational value.
- Sponsor initiatives that improve customer experience, employee experience, productivity, service quality, and growth.
- Establish the organization’s approach to innovation governance, experimentation, scaling, and value realization.
- Advise the CEO and executive leadership on digital maturity, innovation opportunities, and transformation risks.
- Promote a culture of innovation, responsible experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Functional Management
- Lead the enterprise digital-transformation and innovation portfolio.
- Prioritize digital and innovation initiatives based on strategic alignment, value, feasibility, risk, and resource availability.
- Sponsor the evaluation and business adoption of digital capabilities and technology-enabled service offerings.
- Oversee the development of new service concepts and portfolio enhancements.
- Review innovation proposals, proof-of-concept results, business cases, and scaling recommendations.
- Ensure digital initiatives include clear business owners, outcomes, measures, benefits, risks, and adoption plans.
- Establish strategic partnerships that strengthen innovation, digital capability, service offerings, and market access.
- Support major client opportunities requiring innovative or technology-enabled solutions.
- Ensure approved initiatives are handed over to accountable implementation and operational owners.
Governance & Performance
- Establish governance for digital initiatives, innovation experiments, service development, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor the innovation portfolio, strategic alignment, delivery status, adoption, benefits, return on investment, and risk.
- Ensure significant initiatives receive appropriate business, financial, technical, security, operational, legal, and risk reviews.
- Require clear success criteria and scaling or termination decisions for proof-of-concept activities.
- Monitor partnership performance, value, dependency, risk, and contractual compliance.
- Ensure digital investments do not proceed without appropriate architecture, funding, ownership, and operational-support arrangements.
- Report transformation progress, innovation outcomes, investment performance, and material risks to the CEO.
- Evaluate digital maturity and recommend future priorities.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience in digital transformation, technology, innovation, strategy, or related fields.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs.
- Strong commercial and strategic partnership experience.
- Experience working with CEOs and executive leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to turn innovation/technology investments into measurable business results.
- Strong understanding of AI, digital platforms, emerging technologies, data, and technology-enabled services.
