Role Description The Senior Accountant is a part-time, on-site role based in Beirut, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial records and ensuring accurate reporting. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing general ledger entries, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and reconciling bank accounts and key balance sheet items. The role involves supervising accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense tracking, and inventory-related accounting. The Senior Accountant will also assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, tax compliance, and internal controls, while partnering with management to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in general accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), with solid knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a retail or consumer goods environment is preferred.
- Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, handle inventory-related accounting, and support tax and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently on-site and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA or equivalent) are a plus.
- Prior experience in a senior or lead accounting role, ideally within retail, lifestyle, or e-commerce sectors.
