Role Description The Master Carpenter is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for leading complex carpentry projects from planning to completion. Daily tasks include interpreting technical drawings, measuring and cutting materials, assembling and installing wooden structures, and overseeing framing and finish carpentry work. The role involves selecting and using appropriate hand tools and power tools safely, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship, and guiding junior carpenters and workshop staff. The Master Carpenter will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and clients to deliver custom solutions, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and meet project timelines and quality requirements.
Qualifications
* Strong foundation in carpentry, with experience across structural and detailed work.
* Proficiency with hand tools, ensuring precise cutting, shaping, and finishing.
* Skilled use of power tools, with a solid understanding of safety procedures and maintenance.
* Experience in framing, including layout, assembly, and installation of structural components.
* Advanced finish carpentry skills, including trim work, cabinetry, and fine detailing.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and measurements accurately.
* Proven experience leading projects or teams in a workshop or construction environment.
* Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to relevant regulations and best practices.
* Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain high quality under time constraints.
* Previous experience in bespoke or high-end carpentry projects in a similar setting is highly beneficial.
