Job Purpose:
Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for collecting, analysing and interpreting data to support strategic and operational decision making, which requires understanding of different business lines, products and services, and market needs.
The role focuses on turning market data sets into clear reports and performance measures that keep businesses informed, up to date, and provide improvement measures. He/She should be able to work with cross-functional departments, have the ability to source and explain data in a meaningful manner. BI Manager should assist business heads in scanning the market for business opportunities, growth areas, sectoral projects, market trends and information, and provide guidance on reporting metrics, gaps to address and growth strategies.
He/She will also be responsible to address any concerns, questions and requests raised by the management or business heads. Developing a solid understanding of the bank and its need is essential; to do so the candidate should be aware of the firm’s Strategy, gaps, and business trajectory.
Furthermore, the candidate should possess technical skills needed to build BI, dashboards.
Main Tasks & Accountabilities:
-Gather, clean and validate data from multiple external and internal sources to ensure accuracy and consistency for reporting.
-Design, produce and maintain regular and ad hoc management reports and executive summaries.
-Develop meaningful performance indicators and metrics that align with business objectives.
-Translate business questions into analytical requirements and appropriate reporting specifications.
-Create clear, concise visualizations and narrative summaries to support stakeholder decision making.
-Investigate data anomalies and implement corrective actions to address data quality issues.
-Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and refine reporting priorities.
-Document data sources, definitions and calculation methodologies for transparency and repeatability.
-Support planning cycles and business reviews with timely analytical inputs and scenario analysis.
-Monitor key trends and provide proactive insight into risks and opportunities affecting performance.
-Prioritize and manage multiple requests while meeting agreed deadlines and quality standards.
-Link the banks Strategy to business opportunities in the market and provide guidance on how to address them.
-Have clear understanding of local regulations, banking laws, financial knowledge, banking business model, and able to link the above to the firms overall objectives.
-Build MIS and dashboards for senior management.
-Keep track of business KPIs vis-à-vis budget, and forecast.
-Work closely with Finance to develop a clear understanding of business yield, cost, budgets, and performance. BI analyst will be responsible to relay this information to business heads in a meaningful manner.
-Bi analyst is expected to liaise and work closely with PMO, IT, Finance, Risk, Compliance on various matters related to developing business strategies.
-Assist head of Strategy in developing robust business strategies, and execution methods.
-Possess a strong understanding and usage of AI tools and software.
-Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports to provide insights into key business metrics and performance indicators.
-Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
-Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and ensure that dashboard solutions meet business requirements.

-Identify repetitive manual tasks and processes that can be automated to improve efficiency and productivity.
-Design, develop, and implement automated solutions using business intelligence tools and scripting languages.
-Monitor automated processes to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.
-Lead and participate in business intelligence projects from inception to completion.
-Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in consultation with key stakeholders.
-Coordinate project activities, allocate resources, track progress, and manage risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
Task Force Collaboration:
- -Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by forming task forces to address specific business challenges or opportunities.
-Define the objectives, scope, and responsibilities of each task force to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
-Foster effective communication and teamwork among task force members to drive innovation and achieve desired outcomes.
- Education Level – Minimum
-Bachelors in either business, Finance, economics, big data and AI, Computer science, information systems Strategy, or equivalent.
