About the PositionWe are looking for a passionate, friendly, and dedicated Chess Coach to join a newly established multi-sport club located at The Village in Seeb, Muscat.
The club offers a variety of sports activities, and we are looking for a coach who can create an enjoyable, engaging, and educational chess experience for children.
We believe that being a great chess coach is about more than just playing strength. The ability to connect with children, inspire them, and keep them motivated is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- * Conduct engaging and structured chess lessons for children of different ages and skill levels.
- Create a positive, friendly, and motivating learning environment.
- Build strong relationships with students and encourage their long-term participation.
- Manage group classes effectively, maintaining discipline while keeping lessons enjoyable.
- Adapt teaching methods to different ages, personalities, and learning abilities.
- Monitor students’ progress and communicate effectively with parents.
- Help students develop confidence, concentration, critical thinking, and a genuine interest in chess.
Requirements FIDE rating is required* (no minimum rating requirement).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children.
* Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
* Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
* Ability to make chess lessons fun, interactive, and educational.
* Good English communication skills.
* Previous experience teaching chess to children is an advantage.
