About Shurooq Amin
Shurooq Amin is an internationally established Kuwaiti multidisciplinary artist, writer, curator, and cultural strategist whose career spans over three decades.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, and has appeared at Christie’s. Her practice encompasses contemporary painting, mixed media, installation, writing, curatorial projects, public speaking, mentorship, and cultural initiatives.
Shurooq Amin Studio is seeking an ambitious, commercially driven, and well-connected Artist & Career Manager to represent and expand the artist’s professional and commercial opportunities in Kuwait, the Gulf region, and internationally.
The Role
This is a business development and artist representation role, not an administrative studio assistant position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for actively generating art sales, securing professional engagements, building institutional and commercial relationships, and identifying new revenue streams across Shurooq Amin’s multidisciplinary practice.
The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of the contemporary art market with excellent networking, negotiation, sales, and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
Actively market and sell original paintings, limited-edition prints, and other available artworks.
Develop and maintain relationships with private collectors, corporate buyers, art consultants, interior designers, and art advisors.
Identify new collectors and potential buyers in Kuwait, the GCC, and internationally.
Negotiate sales and coordinate transactions in consultation with the artist.
Develop strategies for repeat purchases, commissions, and long-term collector relationships.
Approach luxury hotels, resorts, corporate offices, property developers, restaurants, and commercial spaces to secure artwork placements and sales.
Develop opportunities for permanent acquisitions, commissioned artworks, curated installations, and print collections.
Establish relationships with architects, interior design firms, hospitality groups, and cultural institutions.
Identify opportunities for brand partnerships, licensing, and commercially viable creative collaborations.
Proactively identify and secure opportunities for exhibitions, gallery representation, commissions, and institutional collaborations.
Source paid speaking engagements, conferences, panel discussions, lectures, workshops, teaching opportunities, and mentorship programmes.
Develop partnerships with universities, museums, cultural organisations, festivals, and corporate institutions.
Identify opportunities across the artist’s broader practice, including writing, curating, cultural strategy, and public programming.
Support negotiations and commercial arrangements for opportunities generated through the manager’s efforts.
Maintain an active presence within Kuwait’s contemporary art and cultural ecosystem.
Build relationships with galleries, collectors, curators, cultural institutions, art consultants, and commercial decision-makers.
Attend relevant exhibitions, openings, networking events, and industry gatherings.
Monitor regional and international art market opportunities.
Develop and maintain a professional database of contacts, leads, proposals, and opportunities.
Maintain regular communication with the artist via WhatsApp, providing daily updates on relevant activity and developments.
Submit a structured monthly activity report documenting contacts approached, meetings conducted, proposals submitted, opportunities developed, sales secured, and pending follow-ups.
Attend scheduled meetings at Shurooq Amin Studio as required.
Maintain an organised pipeline of commercial and professional opportunities.
Work independently, proactively, and with a high degree of accountability.
Requirements
Demonstrable experience in art sales, business development, artist representation, luxury sales, cultural management, or a closely related field.
Strong knowledge of Kuwait’s art market, gallery ecosystem, collector networks, and cultural landscape.
Existing professional relationships with collectors, galleries, corporate clients, hospitality groups, or cultural institutions are highly desirable.
Fluency in both Arabic and English is essential. Additional languages are an advantage.
Excellent communication, negotiation, networking, and relationship-management skills.
A commercially minded, entrepreneurial approach, with the ability to independently generate leads and convert opportunities into revenue.
Strong organisational skills, professional discretion, and the ability to represent an established artist with credibility and confidence.
Familiarity with the regional and international contemporary art market is an advantage.
Compensation & Working Arrangement
This is a 100% commission-based opportunity with no fixed monthly salary.
The manager will receive 30% commission on revenue generated from successfully secured sales and professional opportunities directly attributable to their efforts, subject to the agreed representation contract.
